Community-Engaged Course-Based Undergraduate Research of Multidrug Resistance in Escherichia coli in Water Near Dairy and Hog Farms in Michigan

This study assesses multidrug resistance in E. coli from surface waters downstream of dairy and swine CAFOs in Michigan, finding MDR in up to 76% of isolates at livestock-impacted sites but absent at the unimpacted control. I contributed to field sampling, disk diffusion analysis, and manuscript preparation.
How does human subjectivity affect the reliability of single-cell RNA-seq cell-type annotation?

This study examines how analyst subjectivity affects scRNA-seq cell-type annotation, finding substantial variability across 37 participants and a 58% higher false positive rate when analysts expected specific rare cell types. I contributed statistical analysis of parameter tuning effects, characterization of analyst background influences on accuracy, and data preprocessing; under review at Cell Systems.
